Bio · 200 words
Felix Lenhard is a strategy and innovation consultant with twenty years of work across DACH manufacturing, B2B services, and consumer products. He has coached more than a hundred startups since 2015, most recently as Program Director at Startup Burgenland, where cohort companies reach first revenue under the methodology he calls Subtract to Ship.
In 2020 he co-founded Vulpine Creations with American magician Adam Wilber, a partnership that produced twelve original magic products shipped into more than fifty countries with a 4.9-star average and zero returns. Vulpine Creations was exited in 2024.
His client engagements have included innovation teams at RHI Magnesita, Magna, voestalpine, Liebherr, Porsche, ZF, Lenze, and Benninghoven. He keynotes regularly across DACH on the discipline of removing what doesn't work to get products shipped.
In 2026 he launches Vulpine Horizons, his publishing imprint, with two flagship series: the two-volume Late to the Table magic memoirs (June 2026) and the four-volume Subtract to Ship method (September 2026), plus Build MDR (with Tibor Zechmeister) and Scale eCommerce & Marketplace.
Speaking topics
Three talks Felix gives most often.
-
Subtract to Ship
The keynote. Twenty years of removing what does not work, distilled into a ninety-minute case for subtraction. Best for innovation summits, leadership offsites, and product conferences.
-
The Kill List
A more tactical talk for product leaders and innovation heads. How to write a kill script, defend it, and make removing decisions stick past the room they were made in.
-
Late to the Table
The personal talk on craft, late-mover advantage, and the discipline of getting it wrong six hundred times before getting it right once. Best for builder audiences and creative summits.
Story angles
Five angles for coverage.
-
The Anti-Productivity Productivity Book
Most business books tell you to add. Subtract to Ship makes the case that removing is the skill that separates products that ship from products that stall. Twenty years of data behind the argument.
-
The Adult Beginner Phenomenon
Late to the Table taps into the growing trend of adults picking up serious craft hobbies (magic, music, woodworking) after decades in professional careers. Felix started with a deck of cards at 35 and co-founded a global magic company within five years.
-
From Strategy Consulting to Magic Shows
The story of how a DACH innovation consultant and an American magician built twelve products together, shipped to fifty-plus countries, and exited the company — all while running their day jobs.
-
EU MDR: The Regulatory Bottleneck Nobody Talks About
Build MDR addresses the growing crisis in European medical device certification. With Notified Body Lead Auditor Tibor Zechmeister as co-author, the book offers a concrete methodology for cutting certification timelines from years to months.
-
Eight Books in One Year from a Solo Imprint
Vulpine Horizons launches with two flagship series and two domain extensions in 2026. The imprint model (author-run, no traditional publisher) is itself a case study in the Subtract to Ship method.
